With each passing day the Wong! gets more lonely & confused ... baleful sounds now, of an almost inconsolable Wong! (although lots of purrs for actual cuddles, these stop as soon as you stop touching). Wong! doesn't understand, of course, that we are also very sad about Uncle Boof! being dead & gone ...

Wish us extra luck, therefore ... if the home visit today goes well, by this afternoon we will be adopting a new friend ...

(PS If you have an opinion on Google+, would you share? :-)

Poor Wong!

It's very hard helping a grieving cat. I do hope the new friend is a comfort: undoubtedly it'll be a distraction.

Little is still looking for Big--and it's coming up to a year since he died.

Poor kitty :( If you do end up adopting, I really hope the new arrival helps. *sends hugs and scritches*

Google+ looks promising - it's very Facebook-ish, but with a clean, stripped-down look that contrasts starkly with FB's bells-whistles-and-gongs approach. The "circles" concept makes it easy to sort people into groups according to what you'd like to share with them. I can invite you if you'd like to try it out!

OK, where should I send the invitation? (If you already have a Google account set up, it probably makes sense to use whatever e-mail address you used for that)

If not, just let me know which e-mail address you'd like the invitation to go to :)

I don't think we have each other's contact details, no.

I think we're both doing that awkward thing where we try to avoid putting any personal details anywhere that spammers or other shady folk such as Mark Zuckerberg might get at them. So, I have sent you a private message with a contact address.

You have my heartfelt sympathies. A distressed Wong could be used as an air raid siren.

Indeed, we were thinking of you ... Wong! is approaching the level of bale you'll remember ...

Poor Wong! I hope that a new friend helps to make the loss of Boof easier to bear.

Re Google+, I am impressed so far. My thoughts are here and there's an interesting article here about the many uses it could have. Lots of potential, I think.

Google+ seems fine, none (yet) of the cruft FB is burdened with, so I just get personal updates, not app-shite

Poor Wong. Crossed fingers that the home visit goes well (will a yelling Wong help or hinder I wonder?)

My f-list is full of people wrestling with Google plus - which does not encourage me to join them.

Good luck. The Oriental yell is a thing of terror!

One thing I am eternally grateful for is that while Bellamy has the imperious Pay Attention mew, he doesn't ever seem to have used the Siamese Bellow or the Bale. Could just be he's never been distressed enough (although I remember my previous siamese, Suzie, would declare Drama! Destition! Woe Is Me! if her dinner was not in her bowl fast enough.)

Is much sad for you and the Wong! It's heartbreaking to watch the Furrsons grieving for lost friends; you can't even really explain to them. I hope there is room for a new friend to help the healing soon.
