UK science funding crisis

The UK is currently facing a major science funding crisis, far worse than many of our 'economic competitors'. Fundamental physics is being particularly badly hit.

I have just written to my MP to protest in detail.

Rehab and re-training for mental illness

Does anyone reading have experience of the new arrangements in England and Wales for NHS continuing health-care? Particularly, whether it can be focused into work to re-habilitate and re-train sufferers of mental illness to move back to independence from institutionalisation?

(Mater could easily live for another 25 years, and our experiences so far not encouraging as far as rehabilitation as opposed to 'palliative' care are concerned.)
