Apparently, I really was hard of hearing. Because when I put on my brand new digital deaf aid, suddenly, I realise that I really do type and talk very loudly :-(
Yes, it really does ... apart (TMI warning!) from an issue with aural eczema...
We don't know how, yet. Although, when I told him, my (estranged... not exactly Brian Aldridge, but... )stepfather reminded me as to how they would tease me for being loud yet unresponsive (usually when excited, and reading, respectively, but anyhow...) I'm going to be having an NMR to rule out the more scary options, because this thing is differential - my left ear has a different, poorer spectral response to my right.
As for the LJ stuff, I try to keep up with you guys, but no obligations, eh?
There's also The Deaf Man himself (Dave Langford), and del_c too. Since all three of us are hard-of-hearing in the left ear, we could gather for clockwise conversations :-)
