Massive earthquake and tsunamis kill thousands

Thousands of people have been killed, and many more are missing, after an oceanic earthquake measuring ~ 8.5-8.9 on the Richter Scale struck off Sumatra. There has been extensive tsunami damage to coastal area around the region. See reports at: news.com.au and news.bbc.co.uk.
