High point of the day: Mater's face at the hospital carol service, singing "We three kings of Orient are; One in a taxi, one in a car; One on a scooter, blowing his hooter; following yonder star..." :-)
Top Yule gift so far: A mouli-legumes*, which was intended for making soup, but so far has made fabulous banana and mango smoothies!
* I can't find a picture on the Web, but if you've not seen a moui-legumes: Imagine a flat-bottomed metal sieve with no holes in the sides, and a cheese-grater-thing at the bottom, and a evil turning sprung-loaded curved blade attached to a handle which turns over the grater-thing and forces food through it. The output is a lovely smooth puree, far better than you can manage with a spoon and a sieve!
