"The 'Manual for Streets' is a joint publication produced by the Department for Transport (DfT) and Communities and Local Government. (It replaces 'Design Bulletin 32', first published in 1977, and its companion guide 'Places, Streets and Movement'.) It puts well-designed residential streets at the heart of sustainable communities. It is expected to be used predominantly for the design, construction, adoption and maintenance of new residential streets, but it is also applicable to existing residential streets subject to re-design."

"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Campaign to the UN for a UN Resolution for Decriminalisation of Homosexuality.

"On the 17th May 2007, an International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO), will again be campaigning for Governments across the World to petition the UN to bring forward a UN Resolution for Decriminalisation of Homosexuality. In this day and age, there are nearly 80 countries in the world where it is a criminal offence to be homosexual. A resolution is proposed by Louis Georges Tin, the President of the IDAHO Committee for the UN to have a Universal Decriminalisation of Homosexuality to protect individuals’ human rights.

We ask the United Nations :

To request a universal abolition of the so-called 'crime of homosexuality', of all 'sodomy laws', and laws against so-called 'unnatural acts' in all the countries where they still exist.

We ask Tony Blair, to support the resolution, and ask him to bring the resolution to the United Nations next year as a supportive country."

It's quite plausible that I do not currently have the physical and emotional stamina to work a normal full-time 37 hours per week, let alone the 60+ hours per term-time week required for teacher training, induction and career.

It's quite plausible that this state of affairs could persist for months or years.

Working 5 hours per day on my own computer, has been tiring this week.

Three flu-like colds in 6 weeks shows a below-par immune system.

I was right to rest at home today: Banks open on Saturday.

I can still play 'Sumer is Icumen In'.

Sowing seeds is also restful.

So's reading.

And cats.

Landed myself a plum gig for next month!

I've been commissioned to help wrap up the final report for the project I worked on last May. There's a wodge of money with my name on it, if I can get the work done during April. Some of you are aware of the philosophies of the built environment of the school of Christopher Alexander et al. The guy I'm working for now has written a book about putting these into practice in UK conurbations - and he's sending me a copy of his book too!

Also good: I'll be working from home again.

Must rest, and get fit!
