Should I Pay, or should I Go?
Jun. 18th, 2002 07:50 amI'm currently a LJ free user. I understand from a journal entry by
webbob and other discussions, that free user bandwidth is currently limited, basically because of resource shortages. At the moment, the contribution which I make to LJ is only in the form of my journal entries and comments, rather than any technical expertise or financial input (I have the excuse of being currently unwaged). On the one hand,
webbob is of the opinion that free users who don't make journal entries are making no real contribution to the LJ project, and I think I have some sympathy with that opinion. On the other hand, I have been offered a paid LJ membership as a gift. Before I decided whether to accept that, I'd be very interested to hear what paid members, particularly recently new paid members, think of the extra service which they receive compared to us freebies (even though, you could argue, that isn't really the point! :-)?
