Hey, there!
Nov. 4th, 2002 01:54 pmWell, I think I maybe owe apologies to friends who like to hear how I'm getting on from my LJ, for being so incommunicative...
So, "Hey, there!" everyone. I'm keeping up with reading as many of your journals as I can, and I'm thinking of you. Meanwhile, I'm pretty darned busy (too busy to do much journal writing), but in a good way (mostly). I'm currently job-hunting and house-hunting (this makes for the busy!), looking to move from Provincial City where we've been living for the past 4 years, to Major City, where there are better job prospects and also, where I'll be much closer to lots of my best friends. I had hoped to be moved for Yule, but that's gone out the window. As for the job, I've taken a part-time temporary thing in a charity shop, which is a lot of fun although Almost No Money Whatsoever, to keep my hand in with holding down a job, and to be reliably doing something really worthwhile at least two days each week.
As you may also have gathered, I'm trying to work towards a new career in `non-academic' research by putting in some volunteer time on some issues which are important to me. I'm learning a lot, and making good contacts.
So, my new goal is to have a settled new home, and a new, good, long-term job by Yule 2003 :-)
My beloved ones are doing reasonably OK too. And when it all gets too much, we watch "Robin of Sherwood: The Michael Praed Years" or "Buffy" on DVD (so I can mentally work on my Spike `fanfic' :-)
