A busy, interest day of house-hunting yesterday. Found an estate agent who is actually a builder, so she was extremely understanding of the short-comings of estate agents (in her role as builder renovating properties to re-sell, she had to sue a major estate agent for negligence...). We saw some really interesting properties, one of which was by far the closest to all our requirements which have seen in 4 months of dedicated searching. So, now we need to do some serious talking! This may not turn out to be The One, but it is certainly a welcome sign that there are actually houses in the are which we might feel drawn to purchase!

The idea of there possibly not *being* any likely properties for sale is very foreign to me. But I'm so glad it didn't turn out to be the case for you! :-)

The housing stock there is mostly quite unsuitable for our needs and preferences, strangely. Too small, too poorly built, far too expensive...
