Arbitrary new year counting increment

But people are dropping back into ruts, and the kitties and I are here alone together again. So something has changed. SK is going for chemo again today, which will be a cause for celebration if the blood tests are positive. SK seems reasonably cheerful this morning - lots of purring, and a bit of eating; WK seems to have missed me, and so purred in my face all night. [FX: Snore!]
R & U (D & K) are in the UK! This apparently caused much jaw-droppage at SCA Drachenwald Coronation in Caerphilly over the weekend :-) G & I get to hang out with them on Wednesday and Thursday, and they get to meet our kitties, all being well.
The Open University admin staff should be back at work today. I will give them a call before I head out to the vets, just to "Ping!" them about my paperwork. The school should have sent in my teacher training acceptance letter on Thu 18 Dec, but the OU will have been shut when it arrived. As soon as OU validate the process, I can have the Web password and start studying. In the meantime, I've been brushing up my biology - having never taken an exam in it, and had no formal lessons in it since I was 13, I would be expected to teach it up to GCSE level (age 16). I borrowed an official GCSE Core Science textbook (AQA 2002) from the library, and spent the holidays barking* at it. Luckily, D's father is a retired GP**, so I could get something closer to the truth from "Grays Anatomy" when the GCSE textbook diagrams were incomprehensible or inconsistent.
Doing some admin for SBLETS today. Also food shopping. Must confirm with Oxfam when I'm doing shop cover this week. Need to order some more raspberry canes for the allotment, and check up on the heritage seed order placed with Thomas Etty Esq. Should check if Vigo Ltd received my catalogue request. Oh, and some holiday gifts need changing because they were wrong...
But first, exercises...
UPDATE: Did some exercises, and SBLETS admin. Confirmed Oxfam shifts (as half-remembered). Bought some food, need to buy more. Rest still TO DO.
* To bark - to laugh out loud at, and deride, absurdity

*** I'm sure y'all would tell me if I were using incomprehensible dialect terms?
