The Flooger and I went out in the early morning sun - the sun which comes before most people are awake, and often is gone behind cloud by the time they're eating breakfast - and we listened to the birds. Someone nearby has chickens - the sound of the cockerel crowing was a bitter-sweet jolt back to my early childhood - and there were numerous other birds singing, although I'm too ignorant to identify them. Whilst the Flooger snoozed in the long grass - a delightful drop of dew enhancing the Floogerous nose - I stood and exercised my knees, bending them deeply and holding as long as I could. If I am diligent, my knees may eventually be stronger than they were before my latest accident...
