Be direct with 'direct mail' (paper spam)
May. 9th, 2005 01:56 pmFor those of you in the UK, who haven't tried this already, I recommend looking at
The Mailing Preference Service
which should be able to remove you from about 95% of UK direct mailing lists. For door-drop post, addressed to 'The Householder', you will have to find some blank paper and write to:
Door-Drop
OPT-OUTS
Room 130
Wheatstone House
Wheatstone Road
Swindon
SN3 5JN
Edit There is also a Telephone Preference Service and a Fax Preference Service. Thanks to
carandol for the reminder :-)

very useful for getting rid of unwanted phone calls. I still get a few, but if I tell the unwanted caller I'm on the list, they immediately stop their attempts to sell me stuff and get all apologetic.
