BSG is probably the best show of last season. It's gritty, dark and intelligent with very complex social, political and militiary structures. I'm anxiously awaiting season two.
I've so far seen the first five episodes of the first season on DVD, and can report that:
a) it gets even better b) the various plot hooks from the mini-series are being followed up very well.
I've been meaning to post a more detailed review, but have been a bit busy of late. But I will say that I'm extremely impressed to see military sf (well, sf with a substantial military element) written by someone with some clue as to the subject.
la_marquise_de_ lent us the mini-series, shortly after which I went out and bought the (newly released) DVD of Series 1.
An extra treat - Ron Moore (the producer) has started posting podcast episode commentaries. So far only episodes 9 onwards, but I suppose he may go back and do earlier ones when he gets a moment amidst filming Season 2.
