Back on the mat

This morning, I ache. Although my cycling muscles are whispering, mostly I ache from being thrown around like a rag doll by Smith Sensei during school aikido last evening :-) "Back on the mat" with a thwap :-)
I found myself back to some bad habits which I thought I'd broken last spring ... such are the effects of months of not training :-( The students are doing a 1 hour class for 12 weeks, toward a 'junior' grading (they are 14 - I think they get either a yellow belt or a red ribbon around the white belt.) They will demonstrate basic ukemi, tenkan, back and front foot irimi, shomen-uchi and yokomen-uchi strikes, and basic ikkyo, shihonage and kokyu-nage, finishing with sitting kokyu-ho. Quite a lot to learn in 12 weeks :-)
