Richard Paey is serving 25 years in prison in Florida. He was convicted of forging prescriptions for opitates. Mr Paey suffers from MS and chronic pain. The USA
Pain Relief Network is supporting the Paey family in appealing against the conviction.
"Judge David D. Diskey heard Linda Paey’s pleas for mercy, but could not exercise judicial discretion because of a mandatory minimum sentancing. “This is the problem for the Florida state legislature and the governor,” Judge Diskey said."
