It's the little things

I am ridiculously happy to be exchanging email with Mater this morning. So much less stressful than telephone calls, for starters ...

I go out of my head ...

I've set up a new volunteering project for myself, starting Wednesday. This will be based in the offices of an educational charity in the city - the bunch which interviewed me twice earlier this summer :-) They'll pay my travel expenses, and I should even have a 'volunteers computer' to use. I'll be in the research department, and the boss is very keen that I have my own self-directed projects. So they must have been telling the truth about being impressed with my interview, but that my friend did just pip me to the job ...

A day of improvements

Today I have: Finished up my paying project, spoken to and guilt-tripped into some sort of action Mater's CPN R, sorted out Mater's bank woes, supplied Mater with a neck-chain for her door keys, helped a friend plant sweet potatoes and do some weeding, had tea and a nice walk with Mater, arranged my new volunteer position, booked the builder to come and quote for the next tranch of work we need doing, picked up cat supplies, and made lovely plans for a long weekend.

I feel mighty, and far more relaxed.
