I'm all set up to start back in school on Monday. So I'm taking a break! I'm visiting D for the weekend instead of our usual plan of the other way around. Last night, we had a lovely supper at Wagamama - fresh mixed fruit and vegetable juice, edamame, tofu soup noodles, and lime and stem ginger tart for me - all delicious! Today, we're going to an aikido workshop at our Alma Mater. Tonight will be dinner and socializing with the aikidoka*, no doubt. The only down point may be slogging home on the train on Sunday morning... but G and the Flooger will be very welcoming, I'm sure.

I was kept awake in the night by the sound of very strong gusts of wind, alarms sounds and ... windchimes. As we are on the 13th floor, the windchimes must be on a very nearby balcony...

* comments upon correct Japanese plurals, gratefully received.

The icon was made by someone who seems to specialize in such things - see my icons page.

Yay :-)

Mmmmm, Wagamama - we went to the one in Tunbridge Wells a few weeks ago and it was so yummy. I wish they'd open one here...

Yay Wagamama! The one in Dublin is great and a regular treat every time we go up there. It's a good place to take smallies too; they give you a tub of crayons as big as your head and the place mat is an instant colouring book. That means M & I get to play with colours while DD munches on duck dumplings. Expensive tastes our little one has.

This looked like an opportuntiy for me to again express my outrage that the Oxford restaurant is still the closest Japanese restaurant to Reading outside West London; but first I checked the web site...

There's one in Reading! Yay!

Just by the Oracle I see. Time to organise an expedition .

Hope this helps...

THE JAPANESE SINGULAR/PLURAL NOUN RULE SONG
ttto "The Banana Splits"

Tra la la!  La la la la!
Tra la la!  La la la la!
Tra la la!  La la la la!
Tra la la!  La la la la!

One Gojira, two Gojira, three Gojira, four
Four Gojira rising from the murky ocean floor
See them crushing Tokyo, breathing smoke and flame
Even though there's more than one, the noun is still the same

That applies to Pokemon...
Even when there's more than one...
You still call them Pokemon....
Tra la la!  Japanese nouns!
Tra la la!  Don't change their form!
Tra la la!  Japanese nouns!
Tra la la!  Don't change their form!
