Magic pill

I still don't know what the drug was, but the V-E-T gave the Flooger a magic pill last night as an appetite stimulant, and almost instantly we went from 'No, I really cannot face even a lick of this favoured delicacy' to 'OM-NOM-NOM DO NOT CARE WHAT' (poor sod had lost 5% of body weight in 4 weeks, after all).
At 12:30 last night, I was roused from slumber by a hideous stench, and we found the hugest pile of perfect cat shit I've ever seen produced in one squat by one cat, on the carpet - this is why we have a George carpet shampooing machine, so no problem - and no doubt a bigger relief to the Flooger than even it was to us to know we're no longer limited to wet farts with gut lining and blood coming out of his rear end.
These good things have continued - and we were honoured with a Flooger sleeping on us for the latter part of last night; the appetite booster is supposed to last 3 days.
Initial blood tests show normal liver and kidney function, but the rest won't be back from the lab until Friday.
The Floogerous One is clearly still uncomfortable (dilated pupils, sitting awkwardly), but at the same time, reasonably strong - prancing up and down the stairs trying to beg more food all the time, with tail and ears flicking and a definitive yowling sound that is definitely copied from the Wong! (but strongly reminiscent of Simon, who does all the voices for his Simon's Cat animations!)
Altogether, much better than 27 hours ago, and otherwise, we will have to see ...
And so, relaxing monkey baths and to bed in the warm Wong! cave.
