My (inevitably progressive) thyroid condition has jumped out of whack in the past 3 months. It will take some weeks for us to work out my new stable dose of medication. In the meantime, I will feel tired, somewhat achy and muddle-headed, I will sleep badly, and I will need to live at a slower pace. This will make the usually pressures of work and family responsibilities even harder to manage. The key people involved are trying to be understanding, but it's hard to explain how it feels to be a mammal with a metabolism that's become reptilian. I don't look particularly ill to the casual observer - I could easily be mistaken for a malingerer.
Bah.
Bah.
