SK: cancer

High-grade lymphosarcoma confirmed today.

Oncologist to give prognoses for various courses of treatment on Tuesday.

SK remains happy, lively, and eating well (except when tumble upset) - in fact, hasn't lost any more weight at all since the Mum's vet took a reading, despite the biopsy operation!

What ever is likely to maximize SK's quality of life, whether that be a mild course of chemo; steroids; or nothing. We mustn't mess the kitty around...

Remember that Mousie underwent treatment which bought him a good long reprieve from the nasty cancer, before it came back. And he was happy and healthy for most of that time.

I suppose that it may depend on the type of tumour ... what did pour Mousie have? But the vet seemed reasonably confident that we should be able to get SK into remission, and also says that this is one of the commonest feline cancers - which suggests to me that the treatment may be well developed.

Hugs - remotely as required - all round, anyhow.

SK says purrr too! Being a total softie, when there is a choice between cuddles and food, SK will usually choose cuddles (unless the food is fresh human meatie food of course :-) In fact, SK spent an hour purring on my chest this morning before reluctantly allowing me up to feed my little monsters ... and then ate like food was going out of fashion! :-)

I could have sworn you'd referred to Sick Kitty as 'she' in previous posts, possibly even this one...but I probably just infilled it myself as I do tend to think all cats are female (the last five or six I've had close/regular contact with have been female, so maybe that has something to do with it?)
