First-past-the-post is such a crude voting system. Now it is time for our newly elected representatives to set to work talking to their consituents - including the non-voters, and those who voted for other candidates - to find out exactly what we want them to do for us. OK, they can have until Monday to catch up on sleep. But then...
I now have four LibDem representatives - an MP, and three councillors. There may be a Green candidate in my ward in Council elections next year. I therefore intend to work with both LibDem and Green parties in my area, to improve representation and communication between electorate and elected servants.
I am involved in efforts to create a volunteer-run Community Centre. I'm mooting the idea of social events, perhaps including a VE/VJ street party, and also, a community allotment.
Oh, and I'm still doing my PGCE :-)
Other notes:
I will today cancel my registration for postal voting.
I will also request confirmation that my postal ballot paper for the General Election was not used.

I shall carry on my campaign to have real ale commonly available in the village. This looks achievable, especially if I offer to underwrite the initial losses...
By "in terms of basic organisation" do you mean the administration of postal voting or the local Lib Dem campaign? I'm guessing the former.
