Gardening at dawn

purpletigronI woke up at 05:45, but since D is away for the next two weekends, I didn't go out to the garden until 06:15. More unwanted 'volunteer' potatoes uprooted, and I fed cold tea and rainwater to many container plants including my newly re-potted thyme (which is in intensive care, sadly).
G got off at 07:30 for a factory day trip, and D at 08:00 for an early meeting.
Mater is up and about. We think she's been slightly overdoing something, as her leg was quite stiff at the weekend. But she's keeping cheerful.
It's come to my attention that this is a good summer for street parties, what with VE and VJ 60th anniversarys. Anyone out there planning one? I'm trying to find someone to organise one locally, so that I can help out without having to be in charge :-)
