A giant leap for a woman...
May. 13th, 2005 08:00 pmMater, G and I met up at N's for supper tonight. Sounds like nothing much? Mater managed a short, but two-stage bus journey, sitting on strange chairs (admittedly with her wedge cushion) for over an hour, and a ride back in the car. Any of these could have been excruciating if she'd developed a cramp. But as it was, we had a lovely supper, and she's very pleased with the evening's efforts :-)
In other news, the local neighbourhood action group has managed to get a photo story in the local paper to challenge the local council. The politicians are trying to raise cash with a windfall development that involves demolishing an Arts and Crafts building believed built in 1887. It's in partial disrepair, and would be expensive to fully renovate - but it had some renovation done in the past 20 years, and the council are the ones who've let it get run down again in the past 5 years!
