Introspection

This might surprise some of you: I consider myself to be a pragmatist. I would far prefer to know the unpleasant truth, than to be placated by pleasant fabrications. This is why I am a-religious.

It's also why I feel so frustrated with my life: I live in pleasant insulation from harsh reality. I have the will and the resources to help those less fortunate. About 80% of global wealth is concentrated in countries with 25% of the global population, so I could argue that my share is to lift three people out of poverty.

The harsh reality is, that it's not that simple.

Still, one person with a clear vision, and moderate determination, can make quite a difference...
