An interesting long weekend!

I had Saturday on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, so I could spend time in The Big Smoke with The Cthulhoid one, hearing a certain otherly-famous astrophysicist/space scientist present his dissertation research (only some 37 years since starting the project).

I worked on your Saturday and Sunday, at a student environmental conference, debating issues of diet and environment.

I had Sunday today with G, including a delicious lunch of Kung Po tofu, and the buying of our Yule cake ingredients. I've also made Raspberry Silken Pie this evening, and once that was safely chilling, completed a preliminary soil analysis for N & S. Turns out that the soil on their croft is acid and low in the major plant nutrients - who'd've thunk it ;-)

Well that's crofting for you. Even john Seymour gave it up eventually. It is HARD! Good luck nonetheless to N & S!

So how was the thesis presentation? did he pass?

He passed several months ago actually - we don't do public thesis defenses (thank the gods!). This talk was an 'alumni lecture'.
